BACK TO SCHOOL 2012....

Logan & Summer returned to school today, quite excitedly....they love starting a new year and catching up with their friends.

Logan will be in Grade 8 this year, and I think he is looking forward to his 

Agriculture subject the most.  We are really hoping that he has a different maths teacher this year, as last year was not a good one in maths for him.  It was a real shame because he has always liked, and is good at  maths, but unfortunately got a teacher that he couldn't understand, and who took a 

dislike to him,and that was the end of his good maths results!.  We hope you have a great successful year ahead Loges (with a different maths teacher!),

you deserve it!

Finn has been telling them for the past few days that he is

going to miss them when they go back to school.  Finn and

I will both be lost for a while without them x

And Summer will be in Grade 5 this year, my she is growing so fast!.  She loves school and is good at everything, we just worry that she tends to get overlooked and not challenged enough, because she is so capable.  We hope you have a wonderful year ahead too Summer, and those boys in your class don't muck up too much!!.

Happy Australia Day......

Happy Australia Day all, I hope you all enjoyed your day, however you spent it. We love Australia Day here, it has become a real tradition for us. We all hang out and spend the day listening to Triple J Hottest 100. We play table tennis, have a BBQ, play games and sing and dance..(OK, so I'm the only one who dances..!), but you get the drift. This year it was only us here to celebrate due to the floods, but we had a break in the weather for most of the day, which was nice. Usually it is a stinking hot 40 degree day on Australia Day!!. But... there were no surprises to which song one the hottest 100 this year......go on have a guess....you've only heard it 50 billion times on every radio station out there...not just triple J...although of course they can lay claim to giving this artist his success. Yep....Gotye....Somebody That I Used to Know, off the album Making Mirrors. And if you haven't heard it (where have you been??!), his music is well worth a listen to.

Rain,Rain,Rain....

Hi there, everyone, I hope you are all enjoying this glorious rain we are having. We love a good flood
out here!. It's actually a really nice time for us, as we have very little else to do apart from spending time with each other and keeping occupied, usually indoors, but, where these bush kids are concerned, the best fun is had in the wet!. Nothing like learning to surf on a boogie board in a paddock hey?. It has been consistently raining for the past week, and Dad asked me this morning if the kids were
driving me crazy yet. It was very surprising to say that at the start of the holidays, during the 'good' weather', they actually did my head in!!. I had been surrounded by kids all holidays, and I desperately needed a break, (thankyou Straddie!). But during this rain period we have been having a really great time together and the kids have been excellent at keeping themsleves busy, like swimming in the rain, and making huge cubbies in the lounge room with every last available blanket and pillow in the house!!, copious games of table tennis, and of course lots of time on computers and gaming consoles thanks to the ongoing generator source, as we have had no sun for a week, which equals, no power for us!. It's funny that every time the kids hear the generator start there is a mad scramble to the nearest electrical appliance, everything gets plugged in, turned on, charged up, etc....lucky we don't have that type of power all the time I reckon, it really makes kids appreciate all things electronic!.  Hope you are all enjoying the last of the holidays....before it's back to the daily grind!.

 

Birthday at Straddie....

Thankyou so much Che' for the wonderful Birthday dinner you organised . I had a great night. It was so lovely to have a few days away at Straddie, alone, a much needed break, believe me!!. It was so great to hang out with Baddy and Maree again in their wonderful home, and to catch up with some of the Straddie crew. And Baddy I am especially thankful for our afternoon together driving around the beach selling Gelati!. It was wonderful to just hang out with you Bro, I really miss hanging out with you. We all do.
So I will not dwell on the age thing this year....I don't really care how old I am at the moment. I am just thankful for good friends and family and all that comes with it. Happy Birthday to all the Capricorn / Aquarians out there.....especially, Barb, Wendy, Beth, Nathan, and Brett. love you all. Wishing you great days ahead. x

Well, I thought that this was going to be really hard.....sorting through hundreds of images and trying to decide on the best ones.......Nup!...it just made me realise that I really didn't take many good pictures
at all last year!!. But ....not to be deterred...it has just inspired me to get better...take more....learn more....
get a proper lens (for a start!).....and snap, snap , snap away.....(sorry kids!)
