MINECRAFT.....

This is what they have been up to these holidays.  Minecraft multiplayer.....I think it's alright, they really enjoy it, and to be honest it's given them both something to talk about, a common interest.  I love hearing them plan what they are going to do next time they play it.  Basically they create their own little worlds by collecting items and mining elements to create their houses.  They plant trees, farm animals and grow food to sustain themselves.....and then come the zombies, creepers and enderman and they have to defend their homes, themselves and each other.....a bit like real life really!!.  It seems OK, and they really enjoy it.
What do you think about minecraft?.  Do your kids play it?.

SKATEWAY.....

Skating.....wow....not something I had imagined myself ever doing again!!. I think it has something to do with aging...like you know how hard it is to jump on a trampoline as an adult?.  It's like your brain doesn't go with the speed your head is bouncing at, and it feels really weird, or like spinning around really quickly, and how dizzy you get now?, and like putting on a pair of roller skates, and all of a sudden you have no sense of balance and you feel really high above the ground?.  Now, I must admit, I was a bit of an alright skater back in my days at Skateway (Mt Gravatt), no fear.... speedskating....and backwards speed skating!.  But when I put these rollers on a few days ago, I thought I would be in for a broken bone or major injury, or something extremely embarrassing.  For the first ten minutes,  having those wheels strapped to my feet, was feeling like a recipe for disaster.  BUT.....very soon, it all came flooding back!.  I could hold my balance, I remembered how to turn and how to stop, how to go around corners, and how to go backwards!.  Before I knew it I was entering into the speed skate competition......Nah, just kidding!!, but I did get a bit of speed up, and remembered how free I felt as a kid with those skates on my feet, and how exciting it was going into the rink to join all those people enjoying themselves by simply rolling round and round in a ring!.  And it was great to see so many adults and kids thoroughly enjoying themselves.  So if you ever get a chance to go roller skating with your kids....DO IT.....I remember my dad skating with me when I was little and encouraging me, and how we laughed when he fell or got wobbly, and I will treasure it forever!.

He was so worried at first, but he persisted, and loved it !

Thanks for your help Juan x

And now,  so will our kids!

Easter egg hunt fun
Recovery mode at the creek, I think we all ended up
having a refreshing dip....just what we needed to clear those
fuzzy heads!!

Nights of glass blowing, rap dancing, doof dancing, practical jokes....
will we ever grow up??  Lord, I hope not, even when it takes
a lot longer to recover these days!!.  Good times with a good crew x.

HAPPY EASTER PART 1......

Hello all, I hope you had an enjoyable break over Easter.  I don't know about everywhere else, but in our neck of the woods we had the most amazing weather, and it didn't rain, can you believe it, no rain at easter !!.  Well we have had our fair share of it after all, so no rain was a blessing.  The sun was shining, it was not even cold in the mornings, and the days were glorious for doing .......

Some exploring up in the forest.  The kids were excellent at searching for crystals, they weredetermined to find some good specimens, which they did, however the elusive purple stone remained just that, despite Liam claiming every few minutes that he had found a purple rock!  It didn't take us long to stop running in his direction after every rock he picked up was far from the colour purple!!.

Then back home for a mud fest!.  This is exactly why it was a blessing there was no rain. The ground is still so wet and muddy from the previous weeks......PERFECT for motorbikes and buggies!!

Lola the thrill seeker!!

Ah, such entertainment.....

Bec, driver of the day!. I think there is a secret rally driver in her soul!!

Cindy cooking up a storm, with her trusty companion at her side!

And the boys where they belong!!.  (n.b Shane is missing from this picture!!)
Such good times with great friends, old and new.
